Protecting Your Children
Today's society poses a number of challenges for Parents and Guardians as they teach their children how to protect themselves online and in our communities. Following is a collection of resources to help you as you work with your churches and schools to teach your children about protective behaviors. We encourage you to discuss strategies for protective behaviors with your children and employ the activities and resources from these websites to aid in the process.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children houses a collection of resources Parents/Guardians, Law Enforcement Officials, Childcare Providers and more. The site also offers special topic focuses for Natural Disasters, Child Safety, If Your Child is Missing, Sexual Exploitation and Sex Offenders.
ISafe is a leader in Internet safety education. Founded in 1998 and endorsed by the U.S. Congress, i-SAFE is a non-profit foundation dedicated to protecting the online experiences of youth everywhere. i-SAFE incorporates classroom curriculum with dynamic community outreach to empower students, teachers, parents, law enforcement, and concerned adults to make the Internet a safer place. NetSmartz is affiliated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. This site provides several resources for parents and students to learn more about protective behaviors online.
